9 February, 2016, New Delhi: Railways daily or frequent commuters have one thing in common among them and that is their addiction to Indian ‘Chai’. Every passenger has his own taste for the most preferred drink of India, ‘Chai’. But now days, the tea lovers are facing a real tough time in getting their perfect ‘Chai’ while commuting through Indian Railways. The main reason behind the struggle is the quality of tea has really gone down and it very difficult to find a perfect cup of tea while travelling.

In order to resolve the problem for the Indian tea lovers, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has come up with the solution to offer 25 varieties of tea to its commuters. These 25 categories can further be customised to 12000 ways. IRCT, with service, will be providing not only a ‘Desi Chai’ but also some unique flavours such as ‘aam papad chai’ and ‘hari mirch chai’ along with kulhad chai, adrak tulsi chai and honey ginger lemon. Customers can also place their orders with the help of a mobile app.

Explaining the motive behind the idea, Arun Kumar Manoch, Chairman, IRCTC said, “The steaming cup of tea, an inseparable part of any train journey, is going to be tastier and customised in choicest flavours with IRCTC entering into a tie up with leading tea cafe chain Chaayos. Another good news for rail passengers is that we have decided to give 10% cash back offer on e-catering orders of over Rs 300.”
