KaiOS Technologies Raised $50 Million of Series B Funding

Apart from the iOS and Android, the third most popular and famous OS in the world, KaiOS has revealed to secured fresh funding round of $50 Million in the funding round of Series B led by the Cathay Innovation, with the continued participation from the TCL Holdings and Google.

KaiOS, which has nothing to do with the smartphone but also powers feature phones, that powers more than 100 million devices that run on the KaiOS.

In the year 2018, When Google had invested around $22 Million in the KaiOS Technologies, Reliance Jio also invested $7 Million in an all-cash deal to pick up the 17% stake in the kaiOS Technology.

KaiOS also claimed to have shipped around 100 million smartphones running on the KaiOS, which enables the digital transformation in more than 100 countries.

“Our mission is to open up new possibilities for individuals, organizations, and society by bringing mobile connectivity to the billions of people without internet in emerging markets, as well as providing those in established markets with an alternative to smartphones,” said Sebastien Codeville, CEO of KaiOS Technologies.
