After launching its high-end Moto Edge 30 Pro (Edge+ 2022 in the US) smartphone in India lately, Motorola has opted to focus on its affordable portfolio and has unveiled the new Moto G22 in Europe. It has a novel style for a Moto G-series phone, runs Android 12 out of the box, and has other appealing features.

The Moto G22 takes a different approach, with an oval-shaped back camera hump housing four cameras. Aside from that, the rear panel bears the Motorola branding found on the majority of Motorola products. The front has a punch-hole screen. The 6.5-inch Max Vision LCD panel has an HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It features a 20:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 268ppi.
Then under the hood is the MediaTek Helio G37 processor, which was also seen in the Moto G Power 2022. It is combined with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage on the Moto G22. A memory card may be inserted to increase the storage capacity by up to 1TB.
On the rear, there is a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. The selfie camera has a 16MP resolution. Users get access to Portrait mode, Night Vision mode, Pro mode, HDR, Face Beautification, and other camera features.
The Moto G22’s battery capacity is 5,000mAh, and it supports 15W fast charging, which isn’t amazing given that inexpensive phones already have great fast charging capabilities (up to 33W on Redmi phones). However, the gadget runs near-stock Android 12, so you can breathe a sigh of relief on the software front.
Aside from that, there’s a fingerprint reader on the side, a single speaker, a 3.5mm audio socket, a USB Type-C connector, a splash-proof design, NFC compatibility, and Face Unlock support. It has standard connectivity features including Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth version 5.1, GPS, and more. It doesn’t support 5G, which isn’t exactly a deal-breaker at this point in time.

Moto G22 will be offered in European countries such as France and Germany for 169,99 Euros. As of yet, there is no indication about its availability in India or other markets. It is available in Cosmic Black, Iceberg Blue, and Pearl White.
