For more than a week, residents in northern New Jersey have been baffled and concerned by the appearance of large, unidentified drones flying over the region at night. From Morris County to areas near Newark, sightings of these strange aircraft have sparked confusion, speculation, and official investigations, turning the quiet skies into a hotbed of intrigue.

Resident Reports Flood In

The mysterious drones, described by witnesses as “car-sized” and resembling small planes, have been seen flying back and forth for hours under the cover of darkness. Residents have captured footage and images of these aircraft, some of which look like groups of consumer drones, while others appear far larger and more advanced.

These sightings have primarily occurred in Morris County and the surrounding areas, including urban zones near Newark. “They’re not just regular drones,” said one observer on social media. “They’re way too big, and they’re staying in the air for hours.”

Authorities Urge Calm

In response to mounting public concern, the FBI’s Newark office and local officials issued a statement reassuring the public that there is “no known threat” associated with the drones. Governor Phil Murphy also confirmed that his office is closely monitoring the situation.

However, the lack of definitive answers has only fueled public anxiety, as many wonder why the drones are flying, who is operating them, and what their purpose might be.

New Restrictions and Surveillance

In light of the unusual activity, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has imposed restrictions on drone flights near President-elect Donald Trump’s New Jersey golf course. The decision came as part of a broader effort to ensure public safety and reduce airspace complications.

The FBI has launched a formal investigation, urging residents to report any information they might have. The agency has emphasized that it is working to identify the operators of the drones and determine whether the flights are unauthorized or linked to any specific organization or purpose.

Speculations About Origins

Investigators have not yet confirmed the origins of the drones, leaving room for wild speculation among residents and amateur sleuths. Some theories include:

– Military Testing: Advanced U.S. military drones being tested in the area.

– Foreign Surveillance: Espionage aircraft from nations like China, similar to the Chinese spy balloon incident last year.

– Local Law Enforcement: Surveillance drones deployed by police or state authorities.

– Private Operators: Hobbyists or commercial entities conducting experiments or unauthorized flights.

The Public Reacts: UFO Enthusiasts and Subreddit Detectives

The mysterious drones have also caught the attention of UFO enthusiasts, who have flooded social media with theories about extraterrestrial involvement. Some residents have described the flight patterns and designs as being unlike anything they’ve seen before, further fueling speculation about alien technology.

“The way they move—it’s not normal,” said one Reddit user on the New Jersey subreddit. “They’re either government tech we’re not supposed to know about or something way stranger.”

Online communities, particularly on Reddit, have become hubs for citizen investigations. Users have shared maps of sighting locations, analyzed drone flight patterns, and even attempted to trace ownership through drone tracking apps. Despite their efforts, no clear answers have emerged.

As the investigation continues, authorities have urged New Jersey residents to remain vigilant but calm. “We are actively working with federal and local partners to understand the situation,” said an FBI spokesperson.

For now, the mysterious drones remain an unsolved puzzle, capturing the imagination of residents and drawing national attention. Whether they turn out to be advanced technology, foreign surveillance tools, or something entirely unexpected, one thing is clear, the skies over New Jersey are no longer business as usual.
