Nikon India Pvt. Ltd. (subsidiary of Nikon Corporation Tokyo), has launched a new S-Line lens – NIKKOR Z 85MM F/1.8 S for mirrorless camera.
This medium-telephoto prime lens uses the new Nikon Z mount system to achieve optimal performance along with ultra-sharp resolution and enhanced bokeh characteristics for still images and movies.
The Z mount system utilises the large mount and short flange distance to allow more entry of light.
The company claims that with NIKKOR Z 85MM F/1.8 S, natural peripheral illumination can be retained by receiving the exact amount of light throughout the entire frame from the center, middle, to the peripheral areas.
The lens employs extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements that improves image quality with minimal axial chromatic aberration. The company has used Nano Crystal Coat to suppress ghost and flare, and to get clear photos and videos in backlit portrait shooting.
The lens also has a comfortable-to-operate control ring to which various functions can be assigned. The lens has some level of dust- and drip-resistant capabilities with sealing for various parts.
The lens use customisable control ring, AF mechanism with the quiet stepping motor (STM), and diaphragm mechanism to eliminate unsolicited noise during a movie filming.
