You know how sometimes you trade in an old phone to get a new one and think, “Hmm, wonder what would happen if I kept my old phone, yet get the trade-in benefit?” Smart people discovered that it is possible to trick OnePlus’s trade-in program.

What’s The LoopHole?

OnePlus has a pretty cool trade-in program called “Any Device Any Condition. ” The idea is simple: recycle any device you have however used up, and get a $100 discount on any OnePlus phone. Sounds great, right? However, a week ago, this month several wise buyers paid attention to a loophole in the system. They realized that they could receive the credit even if they never mailed in the old phone because the company or the recycling partner never claimed it.

The Fix is In

Aware of the glitch in the system, OnePlus was quick to correct this. They have finally provided assurances that their recycling partner will contact the buyers to collect the old devices. Speaking about the situation, the OnePlus representative stated, “Based on our assessment, it came to our attention that over the recent period, some users were not receiving communications from our partners regarding the possibility of submitting their old devices as part of our ANY device in ANY condition trade-in program. The situation has been resolved, and everyone interested in this trade-in program based on the current lineup of OnePlus products will be able to participate in the ANY device in ANY condition trade-in program.”

What About Past Buyers?

Something that is still unclear even to this date is whether OnePlus will try to contact those users all the while offering such a discount with no requirement of them having to trade in their old gadgets. If you’re one of the users who availed of this buying OnePlus phone with the said program, you might want to check your email. In some cases, you can receive a message from your recycling partner asking for your old device.

A Win-Win for Everyone

Even if one may think of it as rather undesirable it is all for the best for all the participants. First of all, it makes the program reasonable for the contestants and truly competitive. Everyone does not want to be lagging behind and find themselves in a position of having lost triple digits simply because another person manipulated the system. Also, it makes a difference to the environment. It is too important to comprehend that the trade-in initiative of the devices is aimed to recycle such devices and minimize electronic waste.

So the next time you are planning to screw somewhere to exploit some loophole, trust me, companies like OnePlus are awake. They’ll catch on eventually.

Final Thoughts

Hence, it can be concluded that in this case, OnePlus has demonstrated their willingness to uphold the standards of their trade-in program and its eco-friendly objectives. If you wish to upgrade your oneplus phone, you can still find the “Any device any condition” trade-in program – which means you must bid farewell to your device. It is worth sacrificing such a small amount for a better tomorrow of our Earth and for obtaining an additional, attractive gadget.
