Samsung’s next flagship phone lineup, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, is poised for a significant yet nuanced design and hardware refresh, according to recent leaks. CAD-based renders and rumored specifications reveal a strategic shift, with the Galaxy S26 Edge potentially adopting a bold new look, while the S26 Pro and S26 Ultra opt for a more refined approach. These changes suggest that Samsung is aiming to appeal to a wider range of users, from those who want a fresh aesthetic to those who value a polished, high-performance experience.

The most radical design departure appears to be with the Galaxy S26 Edge, which is rumored to replace the current “Plus” model. Leaked renders indicate that Samsung is abandoning its classic vertical camera layout in favor of a striking, full-width camera island that spans nearly the entire back of the device. This design choice is notably similar to recent leaks for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro, suggesting that Samsung may be following a growing industry trend towards more pronounced camera modules. This could be an effort to visually differentiate the Edge model and make it stand out in a crowded market.

In addition to its new look, the S26 Edge is said to be remarkably thin, measuring just 5.5mm thick. It is rumored to feature a large 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the hardware front, it is expected to be a powerhouse, with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The camera system is anticipated to include a 200MP main sensor and a 12MP ultrawide lens, powered by a 4,300mAh battery. The inclusion of Qi2 magnetic charging across the entire S26 lineup hints at enhanced wireless charging capabilities and potential new accessories.

Refined Powerhouses: The S26 Pro and Ultra

While the S26 Edge is set for a dramatic makeover, the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Ultra are reportedly playing it safe, focusing on refinement rather than revolution. According to a report from Smartprix, these models will retain a vertical triple-camera setup but will house it on a more compact camera island. This subtle change suggests that Samsung is confident in the existing design language of its top-tier models and is choosing to make incremental improvements.

Both the Pro and Ultra models are also expected to be noticeably slimmer than their predecessors. The Pro is said to shrink from 7.2mm to 6.7mm, and the Ultra from 8.2mm to 7.8mm. This reduction in thickness could make the phones feel more comfortable to hold without sacrificing performance.

The S26 Pro is rumored to come with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Its triple-camera array is said to feature a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto lens, supported by a 4,300mAh battery with 45W wired and Qi2 wireless charging. Under the hood, it is expected to run on either Samsung’s Exynos 2600 or the next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

The S26 Ultra, as expected, remains the absolute powerhouse of the lineup. It is rumored to feature a massive 6.9-inch display with Samsung’s latest third-gen anti-reflective glass. Storage and RAM configurations could go up to 16GB and 1TB, respectively. The camera system is where the Ultra truly shines, with a quad-camera setup including a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope lens, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 12MP short-range telephoto lens. The design is also expected to shift from the sharp, boxy look of earlier models to a more rounded, curved aesthetic.

Overall, the leaked information suggests a strategic and calculated evolution for the Galaxy S26 series. By offering a bold new design in the Edge model while refining the popular Pro and Ultra designs, Samsung appears to be catering to both new and loyal customers alike.
