Apple is going to improve the Mac Mail application by releasing the upcoming macOS Sequoia 15.4 update.
Similar to the updates in iOS 18.2 the version will continue on the feature basis to further declutter and arrange the inbox as well as provide more productivity.
Smarter Inbox Sorting on Mac
The Mail app’s new categorization tools, including Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions, will make managing emails a breeze. These categories, which debuted on iPhones in December, will now appear at the top of your inbox message list on the Mac.
To view all your messages, you can simply swipe left on the category icons and tap on “All Mail.” Apple‘s AI-driven Priority Notifications will also highlight critical emails you may have missed, displayed at the top of your inbox.
What This Means for Users
By default, Mail will favour the Primary category, which Apple defined as containing personal or time-sensitive information. So, at first sight, it might be somewhat bewildering; however, a categorized view is supposed to declutter and help the user focus on what is important. For users who just want a traditional inbox view, the sorting option in the app settings can easily be turned off.
When to Expect the Update
macOS Sequoia 15.4 will hit the shelves in March or April after the current beta version 15.3. Along with the more intelligent Mail application, Sequoia 15.3 comes with exciting features like creating Genmoji on the Mac, hinting that Apple is working on more personal experiences.
So, stay glued to the release of macOS Sequoia 15.4, which is sure to transform your email management through Apple‘s smarter Mail application.
