Sci-fi enthusiasts may already explore a large and expansive cosmos in Starfield, but with the upcoming release of the Shattered Space DLC, that universe may soon grow much further. Developer Bethesda Game Studios said that at least one significant story DLC would be released for the enormous role-playing game before its debut in 2023. Though there are currently few facts available regarding the expansion’s name, Shattered Space, Starfield enthusiasts are guessing that it may launch very soon.
As per an image of the game’s SteamDB page shared on the Starfield Reddit by user u/Salmagros, there appears to have been a change to the Downloadable Content menu with a new entry named “SteamDB Unknown App 2721670.” Although it’s unclear at this time if this has anything to do with the Shattered Space DLC, many have speculated that an announcement about it may happen soon due to its inconspicuous placement on the homepage. The “Starfield – Preorder” and “Starfield Digital Premium Edition Upgrade” listings are the only new additions to the DLC page.
Shattered Space: When Will It Launch?
Although the SteamDB update may have just been noticed by enthusiasts in the latter part of February, Bethesda Game Studios first announced in December 2023 that it intended to update Starfield every six weeks starting in February. The developer did not provide a release date for Shattered Space, only stating that it will be “our first major expansion coming next year.” Regarding the release date of the DLC, the developer has not yet provided any more details.
The Starfield Shattered Space DLC from Bethesda is expected to bring numerous fascinating new features to the game. A new chapter in the tale, fresh locales to discover, and an abundance of new gear to arm yourself with as you journey around the vast galaxy are just a few of these. Fans who bought Starfield’s Premium Edition will have free access to the DLC, but those who bought the Standard Edition will have to pay extra for it.
What Other Updates Are Expected for Starfield?

A 2023 action role-playing game called Starfield was created by Bethesda Game Studios and released by Bethesda Softworks.
