09 February 2018, India:
SaaS firm WebEngage has raised funding from VC firm Social Capital. The deal size has not been disclosed yet. The company has raised the funding through Capital-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform of Social Capital.
CaaS is designed for entrepreneurs who are either over-served or under-served by today’s venture status quo. In that first bucket: founders who prefer a low-touch, highly efficient funding process, or don’t want to give up a large chunk of ownership in their company. In the latter: founders outside Silicon Valley and the US more generally who often don’t have access to Silicon Valley-based firms, nor the networks necessary to get the right warm intro.
Alvesh Singh, co-founder of WebEngage siad in a blogpost, “The company will focus on following goals: suggesting user journeys to marketers and product managers based on data and machine learning, helping customers measure and optimize based on global/local benchmarks, helping customers to holistically test campaigns across channels before launching, growing the platform to integrate nicely with other ecosystem players.”
WebEngage was founded by Avlesh Singh and Ankit Utreja in 2011. It is a marketing automation software that helps B2C companies drive more revenues from their existing customers and anonymous users.
It is a multi-channel user engagement platform which automates communication across users’ life-cycle. It enables companies to connect with users through Web Messages (notification, survey and feedback), In-App Messages, Push Notifications, Emails and Text Messages.
