BENGALURU: Online Marketplace for apparels, Myntra has roped in Shoppers Stop’s senior Executive, Manohar Kamath as Head of Fashion Brands in as a plan to build an omni-channel strategy that includes both online and offline services.
Kamath will replace Abhishek Verma, who joined the company in May 2014. Prior to Myntra, Verma was Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company.
According to reports by Economic Times, CEO at Myntra, Ananth Narayanan said, “With over two-and-half decades in retail working with diverse brands, he is the perfect fit at a time when these brands will undergo a dimensional change by being the lead engines of our omni-channel strategy,”
“A lot of the success of these brands is owed to the leadership of Abhishek who spearheaded the Myntra Fashion Brands business,” Narayanan said, as per ET reports.
Prior joining Shoppers Stop, Kamath has rich experience working Globus, Arvind Mills and Crossword Bookstores.
Myntra, India’s major fashion e-commerce was founded in 2007 by Vineet Saxena, Ashutosh Lawania and Raveen Sastry with Ananth Narayanan as the current CEO of the company. The company has raised around $159 million by its investors. Further, Myntra was acquired by Flipkart in 2014. Myntra has partnered with over 2000 leading fashion and lifestyle brands in the country to offer a wide range in latest branded fashion and lifestyle wear.
