Fashion e-commerce retailer Voonik acqui-hires personalisation and styling app Dekkoh. This is the latest acquisition for Voonik in the past one year after a string of acquisitions of Zohraa, Picksilk, Styl, TrialKart and Getsy.

Voonik is a fashion marketplace for women with focus on personalisation and it is competing with Myntra which recently acquired Jabong among others for increasing its market share in the fast-growing fashion marketplace.

Dekkoh is a Bangalore-based personalized styling app that seeks to help its customers by connecting them to fashion designers for personalised fashion recommendations, tips and suggestions on what to wear and where to buy from for any occasion. It also has a rule-based chatbot technology. Further, it allows the customer to choose from over 15000 fashion products from over 200 participating stores.

Dekkoh was founded by Varun Mathew, Anirudh Dasu and Aditya Chalasani, graduates of the National Law School of India University, BITS Pilani and the University of Southern California respectively in November 2015.

Sujayath Ali, CEO and co-founder of Voonik in a statement to the VCCircle said, “Voonik is built around personalised fashion, to provide every customer a solution and opportunity to be fashionable every day. Personalization is what has set us miles ahead of competition. The Dekkoh platform is doing the same through an engaged community of stylists and a highly data-driven profiling and chatbots.

We will use their expertise in further strengthening our personalisation engine. There is a great synergy between the Voonik and Dekkoh platforms and we are happy to onboard a talented team.”

Voonik raised $20 million in a Series B funding led by venture capital firm Sequoia Capital. Voonik has claimed that it has crossed 5000 shipments a day.
