12 August 2016, India :

Real estate portal PropTiger.com, backed by Rupert Murdoch-controlled News Corp., Thursday said it has acquired virtual and augmented reality startup 3DPhy. The company did not disclose the value of the transaction.

With its virtual walk-throughs, 3DPhy enables builders and brokers to showcase multiple properties over phones, laptops, tablets or head-mounted devices.

With this acquisition, PropTiger aims to advance its technological platform to further enhance hi-tech marketing solutions for developers,” the portal stated on Thursday.

PropTiger Chief Executive Officer Dhruv Agarwala said: “With mobile devices overtaking desktops, the real estate sector has become one of the prime sectors where people want to have the ability to search anywhere and anytime, and that is a big priority for us.”

3Dphy was founded by IIT Kharagpur alumni Amit Shekhar, Rajeev Kumar, Uttam Kumar and Raghvendra Polinki.

Amit Shekhar, co-founder and CEO of 3DPhy, said: “We are excited to partner with PropTiger. Together, we will offer a comprehensive technological solution to meet the changing needs of our customers. We are delighted that PropTiger believes in our technology and strategic vision; this will enable us to bring even greater value to customers.”
