Bangalore, 13th January, 2016: Online learning platform Unacademy has secured a Series A round of $4.5 million (approximately Rs. 30 crores) led by Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures.

The startup which raised its last round of $1 million in August 2016 and a seed fund of $500k in May 2016. The current round witnessed investors like Ananth Narayanan, Girish Mathrubootham, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Kunal Shah, Sachin and Binny Bansal amongst many others high profile investors.

The startup co-founded by Gaurav Munjal, Roman Saini, Hemesh Singh and Sachin Gupta in 2010 as a YouTube channels is one of the largest channels in India with over 350k subscribers. The platform currently has more than 500000 registered users with over 200k active users.

“We will invest in technology and how to scale through technology. Secondly, we want to get the best educators. In the near future, we aim to have one million active users on the site every month and reach to at least 20,000 lessons on the platform,” said Gaurav Munjal, CEO, Unacademy according to ET.
