18 May 2016, BENGALURU: Flipkart and Amazon India, the two huge online marketplace in the country are at conflict – not only through its sales competition, but also on micro blogging social networking site – Twitter.

Motorola (Lenovo-owned Moto), which became extensively popular through its Moto G series of phone was initially available exclusively on Flipkart. However, the brand decided to switch its business through Amazon India after the company launched Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus exclusively on Amazon.

Flipkart tried to tackle its sales loss and decrease of website traffic to Amazon India by providing massive offer on Motorola Model mobile phones and also on Apple 5S on Wednesday. The company campaigned the discounts on print ads using #MotoOnFlipkart and also started to trend on Twitter.

However, Twitter witnessed the trend of #soreloserflipkart today, after number of users expressed their opinion along with surfacing hashtag.

Flash Sales plays a key role for online marketplace to gain traffic and sales, thus increasing their revenue. Prior to this, Xiaomi, the China based electronic company who stands at No. 5 in manufacturing of cell phones, launched in India with Flipkart switched to Amazon India this year by offering the Redmi Note 3.
