Playing Dune: Awakening but can’t pay taxes? Follow the guide to know how you can pay taxes in the game and protect your base. We shall see all the details regarding this and what can happen when you don’t pay taxes in the game. Let us begin.
Who do we pay taxes to in Dune: Awakening?
You’ve got to pay your taxes to the Imperial Tax Collector in Dune: Awakening. They’re located in the main settlements, specifically Arrakeen and Harko Village where you can look for them primarily. Think of it as paying your dues to the Imperium to keep your base shields active and safe from the harsh Arrakis environment and other players. If you don’t, the Emperor might just send his Sardaukar to have a word with you! You can take the help of your map to find the Imperial.
What happens if one doesn’t pay taxes in Dune: Awakening?
Not paying taxes has severe repercussions in the game. If you miss a payment, you’ll get a grace period, typically around two weeks, to settle your debt which is the time during which you need to arrange for the funds. But if you continue to neglect your Imperial duties after roughly 30 days, your base’s shields will deactivate. This leaves your base completely vulnerable, and it can get destroyed. Sandstorms will start to damage and eventually decay your structures, and other players can then claim or loot your hard-earned resources that add to your value in the game. Basically, your base will slowly but surely fall apart and become easy pickings. That is why it is really important to pay your taxes in the game.
