Facebook-owned Instagram is getting popular day-by-day. When Facebook acquired Instagram back in 2012- it had mere 30 million users! Now, Instagram has reached the new milestone of 700 million users!
Launched in October 2010, Instagram didn’t reach 100 million monthly users until February 2013. Interestingly, the latest 100 million users got on board in less than 4 months! Instagram is growing at a great speed, it reached 600 million users back in December 2016.
Instagram stated, “We’re thrilled to announce that our community has grown to more than 700 million Instagrammers. And the last 100 million of you joined faster than ever. We’ve made it even easier for people across the globe to join the Instagram community, share their experiences and strengthen connections to their friends and passions. With new features like stories, live video and disappearing messages in Direct, people now have more ways than ever to express themselves and feel closer to what matters to them.”
Instagram has hit the landmark number of 200 million daily users of Stories. The company didn’t specify if this is the number of people who use the ‘Stories’ or if it includes viewers as well. Facebook has systematically copied the features from Snapchat and now it has surpassed Snap Inc.
