25 April, 2016, Bangalore: In its recently concluded funding round, Volare Technologies Pvt. Ltd., the maker of contacts management app InTouchApp has managed to pump an undisclosed amount of funding from Blume Ventures. The raised amount will be utilised in strengthening its team and to enhance its technology.
The company was floated in market in 2012 and this is the first round of funding which InTouchApp had raised since its inception. It focuses on assisting smartphone users to manage their contacts, it enables the users to create a storage place for their contacts that is automatically backed up and synchronized.
Starting Monday, InTouchApp, which has about 2.5 million downloads, will also let users collaborate on contacts and share lists of contacts with each other. “Now, we are going into our second innings where we want to help you do more with your phone contacts. The first thing that we are doing is enabling you to share contacts with one another,” said Sarang Lakare, chief executive at InTouchApp, reports Mint.
Elaborating on its latest development, company said that the latest introduction will enable the users to peep into each other’s contact list with the help of the app. For instance, If User A wants to access a particular contact number which User B has then the app will allow him to do so without a hassle. Further, the app will also empower user to create a contact list which can be accessed by a group or team of individuals similar to Dropbox and Google Drive.
Commenting on the investment, Karthik Reddy, Managing Partner, Blume Ventures said, “What InTouchApp is doing is taking a prevalent social network, your phonebook, and layering a lot of intelligence upon it. I think they have a good shot at building something world-class out of India.”
