Qualcomm launches new processor Snapdragon 712 for mid-range smartphones

Qualcomm has launched a new processor for mid-range smartphones – Snapdragon 712. This processor is the successor of Snapdragon 710.

The Snapdragon 712 is built on a 10 nm design like it’s predecessor Snapdragon 710. The processor is has eight Qualcomm® Kryo™ 360 CPU cores. The CPU is clocked at 2.3 GHz.

The new Snapdragon 712 has Qualcomm Adreno 616 GPU for graphical tasks. It has Qualcomm® Hexagon™ 685 Vector Processor DSP.

The company claims that Snapdragon 712 provides up to a 10 percent increase in performance over Snapdragon 710, providing elevated multimedia and other mobile experiences that are as technologically advanced as they are efficient and affordable.

The Snapdragon 712 has Snapdragon X15 LTE Modem, which lets you connect quickly and enjoy lightning-fast speeds. Designed to tap into several enhanced 4G LTE features and with support for 4×4 MIMO and License-Assisted Access (LAA).

The Snapdragon 712 has Tri-band Wi-Fi: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with Dual Band Simultaneous (DBS) + 60 GHz.

The new processor supports Quick Charge 4+ tech.
