Software as a Service (SaaS) based customer engagement company FreshWorks which was formerly known as Freshdesk has appointed Sidharth Malik as Chief Revenue Officer. Malik will focus on accelerating revenue growth and lead go-to-market teams at Freshworks as per the report by ET.

“We are very excited to have Sidharth join Freshworks at a key inflection point in our journey,“ said Girish Mathrubootham, CEO of Freshworks. “We believe his valuable experience in building global teams, expanding markets and growing revenues makes him an ideal choice to further accelerate our growth at Freshworks.”

Malik joins Freshworks after a five-year-long stint at Akamai, where he served as the managing director, overseeing all operations of the company in India. “With its refreshing suite of business software, I believe we are well positioned to transform the way our customers engage with their customers and employees,” said Malik.

Freshdesk was rebranded as Freshworks in June, Girish Mathrubootham, CEO and founder had stated, “In 2010, we started Freshdesk as a “fresh helpdesk” with a dream to make a dent in the world of customer support. While Freshdesk continued to grow exponentially, as a company, we moved beyond customer service by offering innovative products in the IT Service Management (ITSM) and CRM domains. As we expand our vision and build more exciting products, we felt that this was the right time to create a new brand that would allow us to tell our multi-product story better.”

In the last six years, the company named after its flagship product Freshdesk went on to become a multiproduct company gaining significant traction for its new products. Mathrubootham said the company felt the need to differentiate and rename itself to identify with their growing product portfolio. (Image- smarttechbfsi.com)
