Techstory Turns 2 – A Note From The Editor !

TS-2Dear Readers,

Firstly, let me take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your love and support in the past 2 years. We at Techstory remain committed to bringing the best content to you and work tirelessly each day in pursuit of the same object.  On our 2nd birthday today I would like to update you about the year that went by and our plans for the year to come.

2 years ago, on the 15th of August 2014, we started Techstory as a side project to help out a few friends.  The idea was to write about their startups and spread the word among our social network to create a little more awareness about their awesome work.  2 years down when we look back on the journey we are very happily surprised to see where we have come.

Being new to the media industry , our year 1 was spent in understanding the basics of how things worked in this space. In year 2 our plan was to scale and to set up a great team and we achieved both these objectives very effectively. Our readership and subscriber base both tripled in the last 1 year. On the team side too we were able to set up an extremely effective, inspired and self driven team. One of the most important decisions we have made in the last year was to hire Sankar Narayanan as our Head of Operations. Sankar has been instrumental in effectively growing the company, building valuable relationships within the ecosystem and effectively managing a great team. At the end of our year 2 we are extremely happy about the results we were able to achieve both from the growth front and from the team building front.

Another important event in our year 2 was the launch of our product – Fireup . As we were writing our startup stories there came a point where we could process only 10% of the requests due to our capacity to produce good content. We had started Techstory with a mission to help out startups to get exposure and the fact that we had to turn down 90% of the startups that came to us for help was extremely disheartening for us. We wanted to enable every startup to tell its own story and get exposure in an extremely easy and cost effective manner. Fireup is our attempt to allow every company in the world to tell its story effectively.

Year 2 has been extremely exciting for us and our plans for year 3 are in place and are being executed at this moment. In year 3 we at Techstory will focus on –

  1. Great content with diverse perspectives for a wide range of audience delivered through multiple channels
  2. Offline initiatives to help startups get the right media exposure.

You will see a lot of new things happening at Techstory in the coming year. To begin with check out the new Techstory website layout and let us know your feedback. We at Techstory are extremely excited about year 3 and hope that you will continue to love and support us in the time to come.

Once again, I would like to thank you all for your kindness.
