Townscript , the Do-It-Yourself Event Ticketing Platform has raised an undisclosed amount in the angel round from multiple investors such as Mohit Garg (Co-Founder, MindTickle), Mahesh Parasuraman (Managing Director- Carlyle Group), Nipam Shah (Founder, NRS Advisors), Dheeraj Vasisht (Director – Ameretat Technologies), Sandeep Bhandarkar (CEO – Ameretat Technologies), Hemal Patel ( CEO – Cyberoam Technologies), Lalit Singh (Executive Director – Enterprise Services HP), Kalyan G (AVP Technology Business, Mahindra Tech) and few others.

The company is expected to use these funds to increase the presence in multiple cities across the country and for further enhancing their product. Townscript plans to achieve a growth of 400% this year in the number of ticket sales and serve more than 5,000 small and medium size event organizers.

In terms of product, Townscript will continue focusing on building a clean & intuitive interface that fulfills all major needs of event organizers and helps them in the Do-It-Yourself approach.

Townscript  had launched their product in January 2014 and have grown at a massive pace of 30% month on month.(Read the story of Townscript)

” Because of our Do-It-Yourself approach most of the organizers have come on board by signing up on their own. This is what has helped us achieve our high growth rate” said Sachin Sharma, Founder of Townscript. The company was founded by Sachin Sharma and Sanchit Malik.

Online Event Ticketing Industry is becoming hot in India, with a 5000 Cr. Market that is growing at a rate of 15% year on year. Also, Indian online payment market both on mobile and web has picked up at a very high pace.

BookMyShow, a ticketing platform for Movies, High End Entertainment and Sports Events has been a leader in its segment, but there hasn’t been any clear cut leader in the Do-It-Yourself Market for small and medium scale events. Small and medium size event organizers need a registration management tool which can help them in collecting payments online easily without any hassles. This is the problem Townscript is intending on solving.

Townscript is focusing on the market which Eventbrite captured in USA. The key to address this market is via providing easy to use registration management tools that can address all key pain points in event registration & payments collection. Also, considering that Indian consumers are rapidly opting for mobile apps, Townscript have  launched an event app.

The company today has served more than 1000 event organizers, few of the premium organizers being ESummit IIT-Bombay, Rubyconf India, Mood Indigo, Startup Leadership Program, Pune International Marathon and many more.
