22 January, 2016, New Delhi: In an interesting move, UrbanClap, a mobile –based service marketplace, has managed to crack the deal with the after sales service platform HandyHome. UrbanClap has taken over the HandyHome in an equity swap deal.

HandyHome ventured into the market in 2015, the Mumbai based company helps its users to book brand authorised repairs and other services for electronic appliances online. Confirming the development, one of the investors on the board of UrbanClap said, “The transaction has been closed and the prime motive is to strengthen the consumer base in services in the electronic appliances online.” However, founders of Urbanclap kept mum and avoided commenting anything on the issue. On the other hand, HandyHome’s Co-Founder, Akash Goel was not available when contacted, reports TOI.

Urbanclap is a brainchild of Abhiraj Bhal, Varun Khaitan and Raghav Chandra. Founded in 2014, the company was backed up by Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, Founders, Snapdeal during its initial stage.
