04 Jun. 16, BENGALURU: Junglee, a subsidiary of the Seattle-based e-commerce company, Amazon has launched a pilot that allows an individual sell second-hand products across different product categories such as pre-owned watches, mobile phones, tablets, books, among others.
This service is currently available in Bengaluru, and is expected to expand to other metros in near future depending on the encouragement of the initial project.
According to sources and reports by ET, a corresponding from Amazon said, “It was a natural extension for us to provide customers with an opportunity to buy and sell used and refurbished selection in a trusted and convenient way”.
The launch of this service has strengthened Amazon to compete against other companies like Quikr and Olx in India.
Amazon India, used Junglee as the Launchpad for its India foray, is presently competing against Flipkart to scale up in the online marketplace industry.
