Tamil Nadu is doing what it takes to promote entrepreneurs and new businesses. The Government is planning to offer maximum support to startups, provided they follow the mandatory rules and regulations in order to create a fair economic system in the state as per The Hindu.
“While Tamil Nadu is already one of the preferred destinations for start-ups in the country, a strong focus on a better ecosystem, more financing options and policy support can propel the state to a dominant position,” KK Raman, Partner, Management Consulting, KPMG India told on the sidelines of CII’s ICT conference Connect 2016.
“Such research parks should come up in non-metro locations also, as Tamil Nadu is one of the best states to offer alternative destinations for businesses. Other than Chennai, there are at least 3-4 locations that hold good potential to nurture entrepreneurs,” he added.
T.K. Ramachandran, Principal Secretary, IT, Tamil Nadu said, “The State Government is willing to provide all support to startups, but regulations are needed to create a level playing field. Startups can only function if the supporting ecosystem exists. Who best can provide that environment than the government,” he said. Nobody can take risk as much as the government can, he said, highlighting the creation of supportive institute such as IITs, IITM Research Park and the Tidel Park. He also said necessary ecosystem to support start-ups are available in the State. Source- The Hindu Businessline
