25 February, 2016: In order to make it to the maximum number of people, Linkedin has placed an ace card to crack the deal. The company will be releasing its first commercial during the mega event of the year, ‘The Oscars’ on Sunday. The commercial will be focusing on motivating the users to find their dream job by using professional networking site.

Narrating the 30 second video, Jeff Weiner, Chief Executive, Linkedin said that the commercial is based on astronaut theme and has a tag line which says, “You are closer than you think”. The theme focuses on inspiring the jobseekers to live their dream and achieve their goals even they look beyond their reach such as a job in NASA. The whole NASA Chapter with Linkedin started last year, when space academy approached the professional networking site to assist them in finding its next astronaut. In return, through its data, Linkedin found out that there are 3 million candidates in USA which are eligible for the job.

“The astronaut is a universal symbol of a dream job. We believe inside all of our members there is a moonshot for an astronaut-like job out there,” said Nick Bartle, Vice President- Marketing, Linkedin.

The average price for a 30-second spot during this year’s Oscars broadcast on ABC is expected to be US $1.9 million to US $2 million, according to data from WPP-owned ad tracking firm Kantar Media.
