OK! So We have Snapchat, Instagram Stories, WhatsApp Status and now Medium Series!(Probably, a few months later you’ll be reading Facebook ‘talks’, Twitter ‘chirp’ as well) So Medium is adding a major ‘all-new’ update to its mobile apps for iOS and Android in the form of serialized posts.

Katie Zhu, Product and Engineering of Medium stated in a blog post, “Today, we’re introducing a new type of story to Medium for readers who just can’t wait for that next post: Series. Series are mobile stories that can be added to over time and unfold card by card with the tap of your finger. This is our first step toward building a new way to read on Medium that’s both seamless and serialized.”

As a reader following along, you can opt to get a push notification every time the creator adds a new installment. And if you have to stop reading in the middle, Series always saves your place so you can jump back in wherever you left off. When you reach the end, you can give feedback in the form of claps to let the creator know you’re reading and that you can’t wait for the next update.
Anyone can create and view Series, and Medium has started off with a bunch of content from people like philanthropist Melinda Gates, Senator Bernie Sanders, Free Code Camp’s Quincy Larson, and PR creative Jeff Lewonczyk. And unlike Snapchat and Instagram, Medium makes Series permanent until deleted by the author themselves. You won’t have to worry about a time limit for viewing posts in a Series — there are none.
