Apple fans, your wait for the first notch-free iPhone will be extended. The business is planning to advance its front camera and Face ID behind the display, allowing it to do away with the notch entirely.

Since the iPhone X, Apple has used its characteristic notch on every non-SE iPhone. While some iPhone owners don’t mind the notch on top of their screens, others have been waiting for Apple to go beyond the notch and into pure full-screen mode.

However, the first iPhone without a notch is not expected until 2024. The information comes from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who claims that the firm is making headway toward its goal of delivering a high-quality pair of cameras beneath the display.

The fact that we will have to wait until the iPhone 16 series to see the functionality shows that Apple is taking its time figuring out the best approach to integrate the camera.

While Kuo makes no mention of an in-display Touch ID in this iPhone range, the likelihood of a notch-less iPhone means that it cannot be fully ruled out for now.

We’ve seen a few manufacturers include a front-facing camera in the display, but the results haven’t been promising, suggesting that the feature has yet to grow and become completely functional.

Apple normally takes its time with such improvements, and it’s possible that by 2024, it’ll have discovered a method to merge both the Face ID sensor and the front camera beneath the iPhone’s screen.

He feels that the delay in bringing the technology to market sooner is Apple’s way of allowing the industry to work through the issues.

Kuo has revealed a lot of information regarding iPhones and other Apple products in recent weeks. He also stated that the next-generation AirPods Pro might be released later this year or in early 2023.

I think the real full-screen iPhone will come in 2024. High-end iPhones in 2024 would adopt an under-display front camera alongside the under-display Face ID. A low-light condition is detrimental to front camera quality, and ISP & algorithm are critical for quality improvements. https://t.co/vWjeZYZUPK

The corporation appears to be establishing a manufacturing target for the device, implying that the debut date may be a lot closer than we think. In any case, we recommend that you accept these information with a grain of salt, since anything is conceivable in the following two years.
