Online travel marketplace Tripshelf has raised Rs. 1.6 crore in a Pre-Series A round from GEMS Advisory and early stage VC fund Quarizon.
Founded by Sukhmani Singh and the father-son duo of Jai Raj and Dhruv Raj Gupta in March 2016, Tripshelf aggregates a variety of holiday packages from specialized travel operators located all over India. The company present them in a manner that makes them easily discoverable and comparable and thus, helping travellers make an accurate decision in choosing the holiday best suited to them!
So basically, Tripshelf is a big shopping mall for holiday packages where travel service providers from all over the country and (some outside India’s geographical boundaries) set up shop to sell their holiday packages. Users can choose from a vast variety of holiday packages across multiple destinations to choose the one best suited for them.

Aditya Gupta, Chairman at Quarizon and GEMS Advisory said, “The Indian travel customer today is more open to online offerings, than offline agents. While the Online Travel Agents (OTAs) are experts at handling individual products like flights, hotels etc, there is a dire need of an organised platform for discovery and comparison of complex package holidays, and on categories other than price. TripShelf is a unique step in the industry and we look forward to its growth by extending our support and strategic guidance to the team.”
Dhruv Raj Gupta, CEO of TripShelf said, “We have created a platform to aggregate the travel operators both offline and online and thereby provide a better planning experience for our users. We are extremely excited to have GEMS and Quarizon on our board, especially given their experience in the travel domain. We look forward to a strong mentorship from the Quarizon team and as an immediate next step, we would be launching a mobile app for our users.”
TripShelf will utilize the fresh funds to develop a merchant center for the operators on its platform as well as to make interface changes.
