Spotify announced the acquisition of a US-based provider of customer service and predictive analytics software company Preact. The details of were not disclosed by either of the companies. The Preact team will be based in Spotify’s New York City and San Francisco offices.
Preact provides health metrics tailored to each user and account by logging detailed session-level usage of web usage, mobile applications, and server activity. It identifies which of your customers are likely to churn, renew or upgrade by analyzing product usage patterns and operational data using big data, behavioral science and machine learning technologies.
“Finding the trends and behavior patterns in our data that correlate with paid subscriptions is incredibly valuable,” said Jason Richman, VP Product at Spotify. “The addition of Preact to Spotify’s team will help us design experiences that grow our premium customer base.”
Launched in 2012, Preact is a cloud-based service that helps companies acquire new subscribers and retain current customers. The team at Preact specializes in predicting and informing consumer behavior around subscription sign-ups and upgrades through advanced analytics, behavioral science and machine learning techniques.
