A video has been leaked which shows yet another masterpiece from Boston Dynamics. Boston Dynamics is an engineering and robotics design company that is best known for the development of BigDog, a quadruped robot designed for the U.S. military with funding from Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
Handle’ is the company’s first robot with wheels and features two of them located at the bottom of the machine. On stage, founder Marc Raibert calls it a “nightmare-inducing” robot which combines wheels with legs in a dynamic system which constantly works to balance itself. He says it “has a lot of knowledge of how to throw its weight around” which is what it uses to help stabilize itself.

Gizmodo reports, Venture Capitalist Steve Jurvetson was at a presentation given by Boston Dynamics’ founder Marc Raibert, who revealed a new two-legged robot called Handle. The bot swaps articulated feet for a pair of wheels that it can balance on like it’s riding a Segway. But while that human transporter is regarded as a genuine failure, this footage—which Boston Dynamics told us was not meant to be seen outside the presentation—shows a sweet robot creation.
