The news of the appointment of Satish Gupta came months after Renu Satti resigned from the post of Bank CEO to take up the new retail initiative at Paytm. She will reportedly hold the post of COO in the new retail initiative.

So, in just two years, Paytm Payments Bank finds its third CEO, after Shinjini Kumar, who is an RBI executive left the bank in the year 2017.

Satish Gupta has an experience of more than 35 years. Before that, he worked as the Deputy General Manager at State Bank of India for almost three decades. He also worked at the National Payments Corporation Of India(NPCI) as its Chief product officer.

“I have been fortunate to experience the disruption and growth that the Indian economy has witnessed in promoting digital payments. I look forward to leveraging my understanding of banking and payments at Paytm Payments Bank and aligning myself to its vision of bringing financial inclusion through digital payments,” said Satish Gupta while talking about his appointment.
